The Galactic Donuts Story
Galactic Donuts was created in Queensland in 2021 with one big mission: to take donuts to the next level. Drawing on decades of experience in Australia’s bakery and fast-food industry, our team developed a unique yeast-raised recipe that delivers a soft, fluffy texture like no other. Over time, we’ve crafted a donut range that’s distinctive, consistent, and designed to delight the senses.
We opened our first store in Townsville in 2022, and the response was out of this world. Since then, Galactic Donuts has expanded to Rockhampton and Caloundra, with more locations on the horizon. Behind the brand is Queensland entrepreneur Tom Potter (professional speaker and founder of Eagle Boys Pizza), whose passion for bakeries — and donuts in particular — inspired the launch of Galactic Donuts.
Today, our partner-operated stores can produce up to 30,000 donuts per week, ensuring every bite meets our high standards. Whether in a busy strip mall, a pop-up, or an airport, our stores share the same focus: fresh donuts, crafted daily, and made to be enjoyed in full view of our customers.
What is a Galactic Donut?
Our donuts are inspired by the traditional German Berliner donut — which means there are no holes here. Instead, every donut is made to be enjoyed whole, whether it’s a glazed classic, a dusted favourite, or one of our filled specialties. We hand-craft over 35 flavours every day, including indulgent creations like Apple Charlotte and Biscoff, as well as our much-loved fresh cream donuts.
